CFHC-IPE | FKKMK. The first year marks the period when students begin to interact with partner families, precisely in the second semester. As a preparatory step, the CFHC-IPE secretariat team visited the Sleman District Health Office. This activity took place on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM local time in the meeting room of the Sleman District Health Office. The CFHC-IPE team met with Dr. Tunggul Birowo, the Head of the Health Resources Department, Mrs. Tri Suharni, and Mrs. Windariani from the Sleman District Health Office. The purpose was to report on the CFHC-IPE activities that had taken place and to request the designation of partner community health center locations for the 2023 cohort of students. For the 2023 cohort, seven partner community health centers are needed in the Sleman area. The designated health centers are those that were not used in the 2021 and 2022 cohorts.
Some of the points discussed were that medical students should not appear exclusive because all are equal with nursing and nutrition students. Field supervisors are expected to be representatives from all three programs to demonstrate collaboration and are expected to participate in community immersion. Supervisors are also directed to maintain good communication for mutual benefit.
The CFHC-IPE team, represented by the Executive Manager of CFHC-IPE, Dr. Sri Mulyani, S.Kep., Ns., M.Ng, presented program achievements such as the number of partner families, community service activities, and fieldwork supervisor training to refresh the CFHC-IPE program. Additionally, she also mentioned that the selection of health centers should not be too far from the UGM campus for student safety. From experience, many partner families prefer visits in the afternoon or evening, after work. Therefore, students must return to campus or their homes at night with challenging terrain. Furthermore, Dr. Tunggul provided feedback, stating that health centers close to the campus would be appointed. If they are far away, it is suggested to choose suitable hamlets. The Sleman District Health Office will provide a response letter regarding the designation of partner health centers in 2023, which will be conveyed through each health center.
